About the practice
A chartered engineer, directly on every job.
Squared is an independent structural consultancy working across London and the South East. We define the problem, design the answer, and deliver it — with the same chartered engineer accountable from first site visit to final signature.

Background
Squared Structural Engineers Ltd is a practice of chartered engineers. We work across the whole life of a building: investigating and diagnosing existing structures, designing the repairs and alterations they need, and designing new ones from the ground up. Our particular strength is building pathology — establishing why a structure is behaving as it is, and setting out clearly how to put it right.
Diagnosis only counts if it carries through to the fix. So at Squared the engineer who sees the problem is the one who designs it out and signs it off — nothing handed on, and nothing lost along the way.
The practice was founded by Andrew Wright, a chartered civil and structural engineer whose background spans UK consultancy practice across residential, healthcare, commercial and heritage work. That experience runs from public and private residential stock investigations and repair, through NHS estates work including RAAC assessment, to problem buildings that need investigation, licence-to-alter reviews and expert-witness support.
Squared was set up to offer something increasingly rare: an engineer who inspects, assesses, designs and reports personally on every commission.

The team
Squared comprises a core team of Andrew, Daniel, Mark and Rachel, who are responsible for the delivery of our work. We assign a chartered engineer to every commission, matched to the building and the problem in front of us, and that engineer sees it through. Reports and drawings are checked by a second pair of eyes before issue.

How we work
One chartered engineer
You deal directly with the engineer carrying out the work, from first enquiry through design to the final signed report.
Decision-useful reporting
Plain English reports that set out cause, severity and remedy — findings a client or referrer can act on straight away.
A straight answer when it matters
Structural problems often surface in difficult moments — a dispute, a claim, a transaction at risk. We give a clear, honest view rather than a hedged one, and we're easy to work with under pressure.
